Sea Cleaners is a non-profit organisation with a Big Vision
The vision of Sea Cleaners is to preserve New Zealand’s Coastline for the benefit of marine life and the enjoyment of all users.
Their long-term strategy is to educate people, particularly our young people, to dispose of their rubbish in eco-friendly ways, including recycling, and not harm the environment.
Sea Cleaners build awareness of the project’s vision and goals, create collaborators’ networks, and assist the local charities, schools, community groups and iwi. They educate about the consequences of littering and work to stamp it out. However, they acknowledge that litter and rubbish enter our waterways and contaminate our coastlines and the sea. Accordingly, through sponsorship, Sea Cleaners have coordinated volunteers to remove waste from our marine environments for the past five years.
Green Gorilla sponsor two waste collection bins that reside at Westhaven Marina. The bin’s sole purpose is to receive waste removed from our waterways and harbours by Sea Cleaners.
Get informed about the waste in our oceans and how you can help.
Sea Cleaners bless new boats: Green Gorilla was privileged to attend a Sea Cleaners blessing of 5 new boats. Captain Hayden Smith and his crew have new boats to remove rubbish from our waterways. Green Gorilla are a supporter of this fantastic organisation.
Rubbish and junk are collected from waterways, and some are returned to Green Gorilla for disposal. We like to support environmental initiatives that make a real difference and are local to our community. The waste collections we provide Sea Cleaners are no ordinary waste collection bins.
Green Gorilla provide Auckland Recycling & Waste Solutions.
