Mobile Plant Operator / Driver Class 2/4

We are currently looking for a fit and experienced Mobile Plant Operator / Class 2/4 Driver, to join our growing team in Tauranga. In this role you will be emptying, delivering and exchanging bins of various sizes on sites, and you will be visiting a large variety of sites that have collections that range from builders to other trade customers, including residential casual customers. Access will vary and requires skill and patience to ensure collections are made.

Part of the role also includes operating excavators, loaders and materials handlers to fill trucks and bins ensuring the plant operates smoothly while shifting material around the site. As an Operator you will assist with site co-ordination including, traffic control of public drop off facility, coordinating commercial customers and loading re-fill trucks while maintaining the buildings and grounds in a clean and tidy fashion. Some flexibility in start and finish time is a must.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Class 2 or 4 drivers’ licence with at least 3 years relevant driving experience.
  • Machine Operator experience with wheels and tracks
  • Proven relevant experience in a similar environment/role.
  • Experience with truck mounted units or machinery is preferred.
  • Relevant transport industry knowledge and experience.
  • Compliance, H&S and best practices including NZTA road code knowledge is required.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship builder and team player
  • Sound knowledge of Tauranga roads.
  • Computer literate / tech Savvy – New in Cab technology
