The Role

The role of the Financial Controller will report to the CFO.  You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the compilation of the monthly Financial reporting packs with full commentary on performance
  • Preparing monthly Board papers
  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts
  • Tax compliance
  • Preparing the Budgets and Monthly Forecasts
  • Development & management of the Finance team
  • Manage and/or support the improvement of financial systems and processes, and reporting to drive efficiencies within finance
  • Maintain the integrity of financial information to ensure policies and internal controls are maintained
  • Manage ad hoc projects

The Person

This is a senior management role requiring strong technical ability and commercial acumen.  You will need previous experience in a Financial Controller role and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong technical governance, systems & reporting skills in a commercial sector
  • High interpersonal skills
  • A practical hands-on approach but also the ability to get above the detail
  • Proven leadership capability, supervising and mentoring staff
  • An ability to problem-solve, break down complex solutions and present analysis to support decision making
  • Strong commercial acumen

You will bring an energetic approach, with influencing abilities and enjoy a structured coaching style to ‘get the best out of your team. Someone who is passionate, collaborative, hard-working and with a desire to truly make a difference will thrive. You will also have a B Com or other relevant qualifications.

CLASS TWO OWNER-DRIVER - BUSINESS SOLUTIONS COMPOST

About the position:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within Green Gorilla – Auckland’s highly successful independent recycling and waste company. We are fuelled by ambition, innovation and kiwi ingenuity to deliver the most environmentally safe way to manage and process waste, for a cleaner, greener New Zealand.

The role:
This is an Owner Driver role in our business solutions division collecting compost material in wheelie bins across the greater Auckland area. As an Owner-Driver, you will be purchasing a fit for purpose cab and chassis with a rear load compaction unit fitted to the truck. The route will be six days a week, circa 60 hours per week. You will be visiting a large variety of sites that have scheduled collections for apartments, schools, shopping centres, restaurants and commercial businesses. Access will vary and require skill and patience to ensure collections are made.

As an Owner Driver, you will be running your own business so will be responsible for paying GST, tax and operating bills. You are required to be GST registered and have your own (or company) Transport Service Licence.

The person:
Class Two Driver’s Licence. An experienced licenced driver who has stayed current with developments in equipment, tools, business practices and regulations so your knowledge and skills are sharp and up-to-date. You will have an excellent driving record because we believe it shows you have respect for others on the road and you are a professional.

Mechanical and Maintenance Skills. You will have basic knowledge of how a truck operates so you can carry out minor breakdown repairs as necessary and can do what is needed to help ensure your truck meets compliance and other safety standards. This contributes to a safer working environment not only for you but for everyone else you are sharing the road with.

Alertness. Keeping your truck and unit clean is part and parcel of what makes you a great driver. Also being aware of factors including the condition of the vehicle, the road and traffic. Alert drivers are attuned to all the input that they are receiving and will realise that a strange sound, vibration or even an odour is an early warning signal of developing trouble.

Reliable and Honest. Green Gorilla drivers do what they say they’re going to do, how and when they promise to do it. We work with deadlines and schedules that depend on the driver’s timely performance. We don’t fudge on aspects of laws and regulations, either. Our drivers have the satisfaction of doing the job right, completely, legally and safely.

Courteous. Part of our Green Gorilla culture is that our drivers have good “people skills” to interact well with other drivers, customers and service staff.

YARDMAN

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual, willing to learn and develop, to join our team as a Yardman. Using your skills, experience and positive attitude, you will be responsible for assisting in the yard with maintenance, cleaning and delivery of equipment.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Cleaning and preparation of equipment for delivery.
  • Keeping yard area tidy, organised and free of waste.
  • Responsible for keeping records of incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Reporting any equipment faults or missing equipment.
  • Helping with maintenance duties when required.
  • Topping up gorilla bag stock in the office when required and preparing the bags for courier runs.
  • Cleaning and storing equipment once returned after service and taking stock.
  • Operating a service vehicle and delivering equipment to customer sites.

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Computer literate.
  • Strong relationship builder and team player.
  • Physically fit and strong.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Full and clean NZ Class 1 licence.
  • Current forklift license and Class 2 licence will be an advantage.

SERVICE CENTRE REPRESENTATIVE / DISPATCHER

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Service Centre Representative/Dispatcher to join our team with an immediate start. Using your skills and experience you will be responsible for providing industry-leading customer service while meeting the quality and schedule expectations of the company’s customers. In this role, you will field calls and emails from customers who have questions, comments, or complaints about our products and services. You will also assist customers in placing orders. All of our Service Centre Representatives are trained to understand the full menu of our offerings so that they can provide our customers with excellent service. The role is not only crucial to delivering the service on time but also maintaining and improving the productivity of the fleet. You will be liaising between the drivers and our customers to find solutions that delight all parties. It is a green light all day with multiple communication channels and challenges occurring at once, which are time-sensitive. We prefer candidates who have some background in customer service/dispatch, but we are willing to train the right person. This position is key in supporting the business.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Field phone calls and emails
  • Provide information to customers about order status and product queries
  • Process customer orders/changes/returns according to established policies and procedures
  • Follow up customer queries
  • Prioritise and efficiently allocate work to drivers
  • Accurate and fast data entry

We are seeking a well-rounded, energetic, adaptable and experienced Business Development person to join our Sales team. This role is packed with opportunity for growth. You will be reporting to our Commercial Sales Manager while working in our wider sales space which includes Trade and Industrial. In this role, you will be actively seeking new opportunities to drive business in the Franklin district; developing and growing relationships with Commercial customer/prospects. Ideally, you will be local or familiar with the Franklin district with strong ties to the local community that you live in. The ideal candidate will already have established local networks and relationships in the area.

You will be identifying new business opportunities while also managing client accounts and providing subject matter expertise and solutions for our customers. Identifying needs and opportunities in the market is also important.

DRIVER – SIDE LOAD COLLECTION VEHICLE – CLASS 4

The largest non-landfill owning, full-spectrum waste services provider in Auckland, Green Gorilla is rapidly transforming the way our city’s waste is handled.

We are currently seeking fit and experienced Class 4 Drivers to join our growing team. Using your skills and experience you will be joining the team for the newly awarded Council contract for the collection of refuse, recycling and food waste in the Central West Auckland area. This 12-year contract will cover approximately 80,000 households. The role will include operating a side load vehicle five days a week and may include an extra weekend day when there is a public holiday. Flexibility in start and finish time may be required. We offer our driver team a prestart continental breakfast to help kick start their day.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • The collection of refuse, recycling and food waste as required, while complying with council contracts
  • Operating in a safe working environment
  • Operating vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Accurately completing all required documentation
  • Keeping your truck and unit clean

 

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Class 4 drivers licence with at least 2 years relevant driving experience
  • Proven relevant experience in a similar environment/role
  • Relevant transport industry knowledge and experience
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
